About Darebin BUG

Who We Are

Darebin BUG is one of Melbourne's largest and most active cycling groups. It was formed in April 2000 and now has more than 160 financial members, ranging in age from 3 to 86 years old.

Meet the Darebin BUG Committee of Management.

What We Do

Darebin BUG aims to develop Darebin's cycling community and to work with the City of Darebin and other organisations to make it safer and easier to cycle in Darebin.

Some of the things Darebin BUG does are:

- Conduct a variety of weekday and weekend social rides of distances from 7 - over 100 km
- Organise bicycle skills workshops
- Hold monthly meetings that provide a forum for local cyclists
- Submit monthly reports to the Traffic and Transportation section of the City of Darebin, offering information on cycling hazards and suggesting improvements
- Comment on numerous road reconstruction plans within the City of Darebin

How We Are Funded

Funding is derived from a City of Darebin grant, membership fees and bike shop sponsorship for mailouts.
